Cet atelier présentera le modèle d’éducation d’Équitas en matière de droits de l’homme qui conscientise les enfants et les jeunes aux valeurs canadiennes (égalité, respect de la diversité) et au leadership. En leur permettant de créer des projetscommunautaires créatifs qui amorcentle dialogue entre différentsintervenants (y compris des décideurs) sur le racisme et la discrimination, ils aident à édifier des villes canadiennes plus inclusives.
Amy is an Education Specialist who helps lead Equitas’ programs in Canada including Play it Fair!, Speaking Rights and Young Women, Young Leaders. She has also been responsible for co-leading Equitas’ International Human Rights Training Program (IHRTP), and the development of educational programs in Central Eastern Europe/Former Soviet Union. She has a background in teaching with a focus on social justice education. She has a M.A. in Education from OISE/UT and a Graduate Diploma in Community Economic Development from Concordia.
Julie Kon Kam King is the Associate Director of Programs at Equitas. She manages strategic initiatives, fund development and knowledge sharing for Equitas programming in 40 Canadian communities focused on promoting children and youth rights, leadership, participation, and community action. Julie’s previous work includes the development of social justice and legal education programs for organizations in Toronto, Montréal, and in the Asia Pacific Region. She holds degrees in Common and Civil Law from McGill University, and Communications from the University of Ottawa.
