Carolyn Peacock is a Cree woman from the Enoch Cree Nation in Alberta. Her educational background includes a recent MSW from the University of Victoria, a BSW from the University of Calgary and a social work diploma from Grant MacEwan Community College in Edmonton, Alberta. Carolyn is currently the Director of Kasohkowew Child Wellness Society in Maskwacis, Alberta. She has over 25 years of social work practice in First Nations Child and Family Services in Alberta. Her research and practice interests include Open Custom Adoption and First Nations Child Welfare. Carolyn has a few publications in these research areas and has served on numerous volunteer committees and Boards related to First Nation Child Welfare. In 2008 she received the Adoption Activist award from the North American Council on Adoptable Children (NACAC).
