This report contains the verbatim minutes of a meeting regarding the Ontario government's announced plans to review the police oversight system. The purpose of the meeting was two-fold:
1) To express concerns regarding the existing oversight system, and
2) To determine whether the groups present will participate in the review process.
Several organizations participated in this meeting where they were able to voice concerns as well as pose questions to Mr. Roderick McLeod, the head of the task force who is responsible for completing the review and reporting to the province.
Ce rapport contient le compte rendu in extenso d'une réunion concernant les plans annoncés par le gouvernement de l'Ontario pour examiner le système de surveillance de la police. Le but de la réunion était double:
1) exprimer ses préoccupations concernant le système de surveillance existant, et
2) Déterminer si les groupes présents participeront au processus de révision.
Plusieurs organisations ont participé à cette réunion, où elles ont pu exprimer leurs préoccupations et poser des questions à M. Roderick McLeod, le responsable du groupe de travail chargé de mener à bien l'examen et de faire rapport à la province.
