This report was put out by the Toronto Board of Education in 1970. It begins with an imagined sample description of the immigration process from the West Indies to Toronto, Canada. This is followed by a historical background on the discovery and settlement of the West Indies, as well as a description of the language and education there. It is in the last section of the report where the experience of West Indian children in Toronto schools is discussed. Issues highlighted for these children include the expectation for them to “improve” their English, the expectation that they come from a lower class background, and racial prejudice that they face from other students and staff.

Ce rapport a été publié par le Toronto Board of Education en 1970. Il commence par un échantillon imaginaire du processus d'immigration des Antilles à Toronto, au Canada. Suit un historique de la découverte et de la colonisation des Antilles, ainsi qu'une description de la langue et de l'éducation. C'est dans la dernière partie du rapport que l'expérience des enfants antillais dans les écoles de Toronto est évoquée. Les problèmes mis en avant pour ces enfants incluent l'attente qu'ils «améliorent» leur anglais, l'attente d'être issue d'une classe inférieure et les préjugés raciaux auxquels ils sont confrontés de la part d'autres étudiants et du personnel. (En anglais seulement)
