This report presents an overview of the activities of police consultative committees involving Aboriginal Peoples.The first section of the report is a general overview of the development of consultative committees, their importance, and practices. Specifically, the first section deals with how Aboriginal Peoples and their customs are integrated into the process of consultation. The second main section provides a workable model for the inclusion of Aboriginal Peoples and their cultural practices, within the police system. The final area of the report consists of case studies, of various police services across Canada.
