Celebrated as one of the most diverse cities in the world, Toronto is home to one of the largest and most diverse Aboriginal communities in Canada and represents more than 200 distinct ethnic origins. 50% of Toronto's population is foreign-born, and increasingly diverse with respect to religion.
We asked, "How do people of various cultural, social, religious and ethnic backgrounds live together harmoniously?"
The collective efforts of all three levels of government and community organizations have furthered pluralism, inclusion and Canadian values in Toronto; however, managing diversity and race relations in large cities with rapidly evolving demographics remains a daunting task.
