This report describes the reality and pervasiveness of racial profiling throughout the United States. It dispels the myths that support racial profiling and denounces policies that target minorities, either implicitly or explicitly. The report contains case studies, statistics, and the legal history of racial profiling. Statements provided by law enforcement denouncing racial profiling are displayed concurrently with information that contradicts these testimonials. The report also represents the basis for the ACLU’s nation-wide campaign to put an end to racial profiling. The conclusion contains five recommendations that make up the ACLU campaign.
