This study summarizes the status and context of Aboriginal education initiatives in Canada. Specifically focusing on each province and territory, it highlights the current status of major institutions, programs, initiatives, policies, and curriculum as related to Aboriginal Peoples and education.

Statistics reveal the great variation of Aboriginal education curriculum inclusion across the country and demonstrate that context is paramount. Additionally, a holistic perspective to curriculum development is utilized by examining relevant factors such as health, demographics, labour markets, language, treaties, and legislation at the federal and provincial levels.
