Review

This report outlines the work of various advisory committees and their recommendations between 2004 and 2006, which decided that data on race, ethnicity, disability, and other factors from all students JK to Grade 12 should be collected, through a combination of parent surveys (JK-6) and student surveys (7-12).

The aim of the report is to provide the system overview of results based on the response received from over 105,000 students in Grades 7-8 and Grades 9-12.

The TDSB collects student demographic and social environment data to assist the Board in developing policies and strategies to close the achievement gap between groups of students, as well as to establish a baseline of data to measure improvements in the educational outcomes for all students.
