This study, commissioned by Heritage Canada, examines the level of civic participation among immigrants in Canada. Participation in the political process, political life and the voluntary sector are examined, as well as an exploration of why people choose to participate or not. Issues considered are how race, community and culture are relevant to participation. Also considered are alternative methods of participation and the importance of participation by immigrants in the processes of the 'host society.' Information is gathered through statistical analysis, interviews and workshops.
