The 2008 Best Practices Reader features the work of the finalists in the Canadian Race Relations Foundation's (CRRF) 2008 Award of Excellence Program. Held every two years, this program recognizes excellence and achievement in the area of race relations and anti-racism practice in Canada.
The Chinese Canadian National council (CCNC) together with Carrefour Ble from Quebec were the overall winners of the Award of Excellence 2008. Finalists included CRARR from Montreal,Sasktel (Winner Corporate) from Saskatchewan, University of Calgary (Dr. Lund & Dr. Carr), Universite de Quebec a Montreal and the Youth Action Network from Ontario. Honourable Mentions was awarded to AMSSA from Vancouver, Equitas from Quebec, Canadian Pacific Railway from Alberta MNET from Ontario, Sioux Lookout in Ontario, Women's Diversity in New Brunswick and YouCan in Ontario.
