The CRRF has been an active partner of the Canadian Coalition of Municipalities Against Racism and Discrimination (CCMARD). Through its work as a key partner, the CRRF increases its presence on the local, regional and national levels as well as its interaction with all Canadians. Of particular importance, the CRRF’s strategic alliance with the Coalition is the fulfillment of the CRRF’s mandate towards positive change, the elimination of racism and discrimination and the promotion of a harmonious Canada.
Since its launch in 2005, an increasing number of municipalities have taken the steps to join CCMARD and have developed and implemented their unique plans of action. This toolkit is designed to be used by municipalities that have already joined the Coalition, those considering joining as well as by community organizations and citizens encouraging participation by their municipality.
