TORONTO, May 18, 2005 - Debra Sider, Project Researcher of the Sioux Lookout Anti-racism Committee, found that 99 percent of homeless individuals on the streets of the northwestern Ontario town of Sioux Lookout are Aboriginal. This information is detailed in a report, A Sociological Analysis of Aboriginal Homelessness in Sioux Lookout, Ontario, to be released jointly by the Canadian Race Relations Foundation (CRRF) and the Community Mobilization Program (CMP).
The report is being released at the Canadian Conference on Homelessness which is being held at York University May 17-20, 2005.
