The Canadian Race Relations Foundation (CRRF) is proud to introduce its new Public Policy Manager, Omar Mufti.
Omar is a dedicated public policy professional with a passion for leveraging policy to improve development outcomes for all. With a focus on education, sustainable economic growth, and equitable human development, Omar brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his work. He has experience in policy development, policy innovation, and community engagement; having previously worked with a Canadian/UK consulting firm as a consultant and in the non-profit sector as the Undersecretary-General for IMUNA at the United Nations.
In addition to his research background, Omar has also demonstrated leadership in public safety and antiracism initiatives. He played a key role in managing a public safety-antiracism project with the Calgary Police Service, working to develop modernized policies and practices within law enforcement as well as developing a unique Equity Policy Audit structure for municipal governments. Omar brings a unique perspective to his work that bridges the gap between policy and community needs.
Omar is a passionate and skilled professional who is dedicated to making a positive impact through his work. In his free time, Omar is an avid hiker, kayaker and cooking obsessive who loves to share those experiences with friends and family.
