October is a month devoted to celebrating Muslim Canadians of all races, ethnicities, and regions across the country. To that end, the Canadian Race Relations Foundation (CRRF) is pleased to commemorate Canadian Islamic Heritage Month by launching a social media series entitled, "We Are Many. We Are One". This series will focus on the historical contributions of Muslims who have had a part in shaping Canada's past and present-- from James Love Jr., the first Muslim known to be born in Canada, to modern-day social justice heroes such as Ms. Lila Fahlman.
CRRF will also feature four up-and-coming Muslim Canadian authors whose literary works we feel will give you insight into the Muslim experience in Canada.
So let's take this month to reflect, celebrate, and educate ourselves about a segment of our population that is often misunderstood.
