TORONTO, July 3, 2015 – The CRRF was a proud partner to the 2015 Diversity Expo and Awards presented by Silvertrust Media and the Transformation Institute For Leadership & Innovation at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto on Friday, June 26. The two events brought together community and business leaders from various sectors to celebrate excellence and innovation in diversity, and to discuss challenges and opportunities for Canada's growing mosaic.
The diversity expo focused on advancing racial harmony for productive citizenship. The panelists included Roberto Hausman, Founder of the Canadian Law Enforcement College, Albert Lo, CRRF Chair, and Rosemary Sadlier, President of the Ontario Black History Society. Albert Wong, Citizenship Judge and Chief ADC to the Lieutenant Governor, moderated the panel. Hon. Chris Alexander, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, delivered the keynote speech highlighting hitherto accomplishments of Canada's multiculturalism model, as well as issues that need to be confronted collectively to ensure peace and social harmony at home and abroad.

The CRRF, along with a number of exhibitors from the public and private sector, made available resources and best practice readers for individuals and organizations seeking ideas and partnership opportunities in building stronger, harmonious communities across the country.
The expo also included a spirited multicultural fashion show headlined by Member of Provincial Parliament Indira Naidoo-Harris, a native of South Africa, who hit the runway to bring attention to the importance of promoting positive self-esteem in young Canadian women.
The 2015 Transformation Awards and gala featured a warm reception, dinner, entertainment, as well as a VIP cocktail reception. Its mission is to "inspire, transform, empower, showcase, celebrate and integrate the various elements of our heritage for a more perfect mosaic." The awards were presented in a number of categories.
