TORONTO, October 22, 2012 - The Canadian Race Relations Foundation (CRRF) extends its sincere and heartfelt condolences to the loving family, colleagues and many friends of the Honourable Lincoln Alexander – a statesman of great dignity, a man before his time, who defined his time – who broke racial barriers in his daily life, career and public service.
He became Ontario's first black Member of Parliament and Lieutenant-Governor and was appointed the inaugural Chair of the CRRF.
The CRRF pays tribute to his leading efforts and commitment on behalf of human rights and universal respect. He was indeed, as stated by Prime Minister Harper, "a truly great Canadian whose legacy will live on." We take pride in being a beneficiary of his legacy.
