Mohammed Idriss

Mohammed Idriss is the Service Manager of Brooks and County Immigration Services. A settlement agency providing services to New Canadians and the community of Brooks, AB. BCIS ultimate goal is to help in creating a community where newcomers as well as long time residents are proud to call home. Mohammed’s community involvements range from chairing to sitting as a member on different boards, committee’s, taskforces, organizations and community initiatives on the local, provincial, national and international level. Some of his current roles are, Chair of the Brooks Public Library board, a member of the RCMP Commissioner’s Advisory Committee on Visible Minorities and a member of the Medicine Hat College Board of Governors. His leadership has been recognized in different venues. He is an alumnus of the Governor General Canadian Leadership Conference and he was also a finalist on the Top 25 Canadian Immigrants Award. The Alberta Association for Immigrant Serving Agencies (AAISA) has also given him the accreditation of Mentor. Mohammed and his wife Biftu call Brooks, AB home where they raise their daughter and son.
