Farheen is a senior level executive and consultant in the charitable sector. Farheen's personal journey of struggle and challenges has lead her to become a motivational speaker and writer. She is the Editor-in-Chief of "It's Muslims Actually" a blog that aims at creating a positive narrative of muslims in the media. She is the author of two books titled "From Behind the Veil: A Hijabis Journey to Happiness" and "A Hijabi's Journey to Live Laugh Love" and continues to be featured in and write for many magazines and newspapers. As mentioned in her book, Farheen comes from humble beginnings and grew up in subsidized housing in Mississauga and has worked for many charitable organizations to lift families including her own out of poverty. With this struggle began the foundation of Azeeza for Women an organization focused on empowering muslim women to love themselves.
