Jasbeer Singh has been serving the Sikh Federation of Edmonton as its Spokesperson since 1984 – the same year as the organization’s inception. Mr. Singh began his career in the Indian Army Corps of Engineers and served with distinction until 1978, when the effects of various injuries prevented him from continuing with the profession of arms. Equipped with a degree in engineering, Mr. Singh added a bachelor’s degree in commerce and specialized training in information technology to his credentials.
Mr. Singh arrived in Canada in 1978 and has resided in Edmonton ever since. He formerly managed the I.T. business portfolio for TELUS for nearly sixteen years.
Mr. Singh is very actively and deeply involved in community and public affairs – he hosts a weekly radio show on current and contemporary issues, serves on a public board, occasionally writes for a community periodical and serves on the board of the World Sikh Organization of Canada, the national organization of the Canadian Sikhs.
