Special Rapporteur UNO 2003, South Asians, Anti-Terrorism Bill C-36 |
résumé anglais
The Council of Agencies Serving South Asians (CASSA) made a presentation to the UN Special Rapporteur in 2003. Their report focused on the rise in incidents of hate crimes following the 2001 9/11 incident. These incidents were being reported by the community across Canada. All communities were being targeting not only people of Arab descent. The Anti-Terrorism Act Bill C-36 had further negative impact on the South Asian community and concerns about this were raised with the UN Special Rapporteur.
