Preparing for Virtual Canada Day Celebration

Preparing for Virtual Canada Day Celebration (June 16, 2020)

The Canadian Race Relations Foundation (CRRF) is happy to join the Department of Canadian Heritage, to prepare to unite virtually from coast to coast to coast and share our national pride by celebrating Canada Day together! Don’t miss any of the virtual activities and shows, artistic performances and more by consulting the official Oh Canada! Canada Day 2020 website. Make sure you view the Celebration Kit section and become familiar with the interactive, creative and educational activities for the whole family.

Wherever you are, connect with your family and friends, and start planning your virtual Canada Day. And mark your calendars so you don’t miss the evening show, Canada Day Together, a very special edition of Canada’s annual iconic celebration. Let yourself be entertained by great Canadian artists, in the comfort of your home.

The CRRF is dedicated to the elimination of racism and the promotion of harmonious race relations. Follow CRRF on social media leading up to Canada Day as we will share important relevant content and resources to help you reflect when celebrating Canada Day. For example, don’t miss the launch of 7 documentaries from the CRRF that explore individual experiences with racism and discrimination. The series is intended to inspire conversation and continued advocacy for a more equitable Canada.

As part of our We are Canada project, we will also be sharing a series of profiles on exceptional community leaders contributing to Canadian society and showing the diversity and cultural wealth of Canada.

We hope these shared resources can further garner empathy and understanding towards recent events. CRRF supports the current movements fighting for anti-racism and believes now is the time to act.

The approach of Canada Day serves as a great reminder of our shared responsibility to honour and respect each other and to appreciate our cultural and religious diversity in Canada. We must continue to reach out to each other and grow connections to overcome racism and discrimination.

CRRF is looking forward to a great virtual Canada Day!
